Form FL-120 is the Response — the answer filed by the spouse or partner who was served with a Petition (FL-100). Filing a response lets you state your own positions on property, support, and custody instead of letting the case proceed by default.
Timing matters
- You generally have 30 days from the date you were served to file a response.
- If you miss the deadline, the other spouse can request a default and the case may proceed without your input.
- A response is filed with your own preliminary declarations of disclosure (FL-150 and FL-160 / FL-142).
What we prepare
- FL-120 Response, completed from your answers.
- Your FL-150 income-and-expense and FL-160 / FL-142 property disclosures.
- Proof of service of your response on the other party.
What we do NOT do
Imverica is a registered California Legal Document Assistant — not a law firm. We prepare the forms you choose, at your direction, and do not give legal advice, take positions for you, or represent you in court. For advice we maintain referrals to licensed family-law attorneys.
Authority: California Family Code §2020 and §§2104-2105 (disclosures); California Rules of Court, title 5. Document preparation only — not legal advice.
