Form SS-4 is the IRS application for an Employer Identification Number (EIN) — the nine-digit federal tax ID that identifies your business. Most businesses need one to open a bank account, hire employees, and file federal and state tax returns.
Who needs an EIN
- LLCs and corporations (almost always), and partnerships.
- Sole proprietors who hire employees or want a tax ID separate from their SSN.
- Businesses opening a bank account or applying for licenses that require an EIN.
What we prepare
- Form SS-4 completed from your entity and responsible-party details.
- Guidance on the information the IRS needs so the application goes through cleanly.
What we do NOT do
Imverica is a registered California Legal Document Assistant — not a law firm, accountant, or tax advisor. We prepare the SS-4 from the information you provide, at your direction. We do not give tax advice, choose your tax classification, or act as your responsible party or third-party designee unless you separately authorize it. For advice we maintain referrals to licensed CPAs and attorneys.
Authority: Internal Revenue Code §6109 and IRS Form SS-4 instructions (Employer Identification Numbers). Document preparation only — not legal or tax advice.
