Form SC-140, the Request to Pay Judgment in Installments, asks the court to let you pay what you owe in scheduled monthly amounts instead of all at once. An approved installment plan can also stop wage garnishment and bank levies as long as you keep up the payments.
When you use SC-140
- A judgment was entered against you and paying in full is not realistic.
- You can propose a monthly amount you can actually maintain.
- You provide a brief financial picture to support the request.
What we prepare
- SC-140 with your proposed payment amount and schedule.
- A supporting financial statement and proof of service on the creditor.
What we do NOT do
Imverica is a registered California Legal Document Assistant — not a law firm. We prepare the request from the figures you provide, at your direction. We do not negotiate with the creditor, advise on what amount to offer, or represent you — the court decides. For advice we maintain referrals to licensed attorneys.
Authority: California Code of Civil Procedure §116.620 and §116.880 (installment payments of small-claims judgments). Document preparation only — not legal advice.
