A demand letter is a written request that states who owes what, why, and by when they must pay before you take further action. It creates a clear record, often prompts payment or settlement, and for some claims is expected (or required) before filing — for example, returning a tenant’s security deposit or bounced-check claims.
What a good demand letter includes
- The amount owed and a plain explanation of the facts and dates.
- A specific deadline to pay and how to pay.
- A statement that you may pursue small claims (or other remedies) if it is not resolved.
- Copies of supporting documents (contracts, invoices, photos).
What we prepare
- A professional demand letter written from the facts and figures you provide.
- Organization of your supporting documents as attachments.
- A matching small-claims packet if the letter does not resolve the dispute.
What we do NOT do
Imverica is a registered California Legal Document Assistant — not a law firm. We write the letter at your direction from the facts you give us. We do not assess the strength of your claim, advise on legal strategy, negotiate for you, or guarantee payment. For advice we maintain referrals to licensed attorneys.
Authority: general California civil-procedure practice; e.g., Civil Code §1719 (dishonored-check demand) and Civil Code §1950.5 (security-deposit) contexts. Document preparation only — not legal advice.
